Halibut Fishing: Halibut are one of the most abundant and largest fish in Alaskan waters. Perhaps no where else in the world is there halibut fishing equal to that available in the waters of Kachemak Bay, just off of the Cook Inlet. Saltwater fishing in Kachemak Bay with fish running up to 300 lbs plus. Halibut can be caught throughout the summer season with excellent catch results.

Salmon Fishing:
Perhaps the best known Alaskan fish is the salmon. King and Silver are the best known and generally most abundant of Alaskan salmon. The lodge is an ideal Salmon fishing lodge, as its location puts it in close proximity to both fresh and saltwater dwelling salmon.  Working in close coordination with some of the best and most respected guides in Alaska, choose from a fly in salmon trip to remote and secluded lakes and streams, chartering a deep sea fishing boat for the waters of the Cook Inlet, or fishing the many freshwater streams, rivers, lakes, and ponds surrounding the lodge.  Fishing for King Salmon in Kachemak Bay and Cook Inlet is usually good throughout the year with June the peak season for first run kings. Silver Salmon fishing is usually August 1st thru Sept. 15.

Otter Cove Cabin Accommodations:  The charm and cozy interior of the lodge is reflected in the cabins which accommodate guests. With four suits that are freestanding cabins, affording a bit of added privacy for visitors, each with amazing views from your front deck.  The spacious (530 square feet) Alaska cabins which you will call home while visiting Halibut Cove include a full bath, three beds (1 downstairs; 2 in loft), comfortable furnishings and modern amenities. You'll enjoy many of the comforts of home in this serene and picturesque Alaskan landscape.  Halibut Cove is a rustic and genuine Alaska lodge suitable for great fishing, adventurous family vacations, and romantic getaways.

The Rookery Restaurant Dining:  Prepare your appetite for creative, upscale food served in an intimate yet casual atmosphere. Salmon, halibut, scallops and oysters touched with distinctive sauces are standard fare. All vegetables are selected daily from Halibut Cove's garden and from local farmers. Rise early to indulge in luscious, homemade muffins. The diverse and elegant cuisine of the lodge is quite frequently cited by our guests as their favorite part of their stay. The lodge’s experienced and creative chef loves the Alaskan cuisine which he most frequently prepares, and his zeal comes through in his food.  For those guests who hit it big while fishing, chef will build a meal around your fresh catch, giving you the rare opportunity to help create a signature dish and gourmet dining experience. Bring in your prize for the day and the chef will prepare it precisely to your tastes.
